Minga's PSA Campaign

About Our Vision

Minga’s first PSA will give youth basic information about the child sex trade in the United States and will encourage youth to submit their own PSAs to Minga’s website.  Minga’s PSAs should raise awareness and help Minga create a global movement of youth who are committed to preventing the commercial sexual exploitation of their peers.

By involving celebrities whom youth admire in Minga’s PSAs, we can inspire youth of all demographics to join Minga’s movement.  By spreading PSAs that youth submit, we can amplify the voices of young people to show the world that kids are not for sale.  Youth need to understand the realities of living the “trade life.”  Young people will listen to role models who encourage them to resist messages in the media that sexualize teens and understand the true meaning of glamorized prostitution terms that they use in everyday speech (i.e. pimp, whore, bitch).

How You Can Help

Minga's PSA Campaign needs your time, expertise and any financial contribution you can offer.  We seek help with graphic design, marketing, grant-writing, public relations, fundraising, and networking.  If you have a skill and time, please contact us to use your expertise to help Minga produce our PSAs.  We welcome any and all financial contributions.  You can contribute online or by mailing a check

Join Minga's PSA Campaign as an intern.  Work with students from around the country to garner funds, foster partnerships, and reach teens via screens.  Minga's PSA Campaign invites high school and college students to get involved.  Hours are flexible, please email Rebecca@mingagroup.org for more information.

One of the best things you can do to help Minga reach more teens, is introduce us to more professionals.  We would love to meet your friends, neighbors, colleagues, and community members to involve them in our work.  Please email Rebecca@mingagroup.org to learn more about hosting a networking event on behalf of Minga.

MingaPSAlogoprint.jpgAbout CauseWork LLC.

CauseWork is a full-service production team that carries PSA’s from script to screen, producing award-winning campaigns featuring the world’s biggest stars.  Five years ago, director Joe Miale created DoSomething.org’s now-famous PSA campaign, which has grown into a national blitz gathering hundreds of millions of media impressions.  And with other notable campaigns, such as our PSA work for the Oscar-nominated documentary Food Inc. for Participant Media and the grassroots group NOH8 Campaign, CauseWork balances A-list celebrities (such as Martin Sheen, Natalie Portman, The Jonas Brothers) with carefully sculpted messages to elevate clients’ causes and score maximum impressions.

About Minga's PSA Campaign Leadership

Director, Minga's PSA Campaign

Rebecca Kantar

Harvard-headshot2.jpgIn the spring of 2009, Rebecca came to Minga with a vision.  She wanted to explore how Minga could use film media to reach more teens in a meaningful way.  She worked with interns to create Minga's current film clips.  In the fall of 2009, Rebecca wanted to take the success Minga had screening its film clips on the Let's Get Real Road Trip to a new level.  She proposed a multi-staged awareness campaign via public service announcements.

Rebecca developed a thorough Strategic Plan that outlines Minga's PSA Campaign.  She leads a team of staff and interns in developing Minga's PSAs. Rebecca will attend Harvard University where she will continue directing Minga's PSA Campaign.

To request a copy of the Strategic Plan, Rebecca's resume, press materials, or any other information please email Rebecca@mingagroup.org.
