In such a vast world, it is often hard to figure out what you can do to help stop injustice. Minga offers a lot of ways for everyone to get involved. But, the biggest gift we can receive is not money, but interested youth looking to start a Minga club! Minga clubs began the first year of Minga's existence, and have been expanding ever since. Minga is a completely youth-run group, and in order to grow, we need more youth to get involved. Minga members will walk you through the process every step of the way if you want to start a Minga club in your community.
Why start a Minga club?
You are actively preventing youth from becoming involed in the child sex trade.
You hang out with your friends while changing the world (and eating a lot of candy).
You meet a lot of new people through Minga and its affiliates.
You have many opportunities to do things you wouldn't normally do in a school or home setting.
You improve your public speaking and management skills.
You get an opportunity to run something without adult direction.
You'll learn a lot more about the child sex trade and what you can motivate people to do to help end it.
You can connect with conferences around the country and world.
It looks great on college applications, resumes, etc. You have a chance to make the world a better place, now. Don't wait until after college, or after graduate school, or until everyone thinks "you are old enough." You can act now and leverage global change. You don't need to consider yourself a leader to start a Minga club, but you will become one in the process; we'll teach you!
